In our industry, dye sublimation refers to the process of transferring the dye (or ink) from one medium, such as paper, to another medium, such as ceramic. This is accomplished by printing an image with sublimation ink, placing the printout on your product, then heating the products to transfer the ink. By definition, sublimation is a chemical process that causes a solid to vaporize then become solid once again. More detailed information can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dye_sublimation.
